Aditya Sahu: The new president of the Jharkhand BJP
Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram, the party’s in-charge of for the organisational election of the state unit announced Aditya Sahu’s appointment.
Starting the journey in 1980s as a booth worker in rural Jharkhand at Kuchu village in Ranchi to becoming the State president of the BJP, Mr Sahu succeeded the former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi who is also serving as the leader of opposition. Sahu also serves as a Rajya Sabha member and the state working president.
Jual Oram, the party’s in-charge of for the organisational election of the state unit announced Aditya Sahu’s appointment. Only one nomination for the post of the president was received, he said. After the permission of the national president, he declared Aditya Sahu as the state new president.
Sahu asserted that they are in no hurry to form the government but to fight against the rising corruption, loot, influx of infiltrators and deteriorating law and order situation. He assured that the party would fight to protect the Jan, Jangal, Jameen.
BJP appointing an OBC president will make the party more strong as they can consolidate the OBC vote bank. By having an OBC leader as the party president and a tribal leader as the Leader of the Opposition, the BJP is attempting to create a strong OBC-tribal combination to broaden its appeal across different communities.
Sahu’s appointment as the state president is a message that a grassroot worker can become a national or state president in the party.
Jual Oram also announced the 21 nomination papers for the 21 seats of national council, which includes Kariya Munda, Arjun Munda, Raghubar Das, Champai Soren, Madhu Koda, Sanjay Seth, Annapurna Devi, Abhaykant Prasad, Yadunath Pandey, Pashupati Nath Singh, Ravindra Kumar Rai, Dineshanand Goswami, Deepak Prakash, Pradeep Verma, Samir Oraon, Anant Ojha, Geeta Koda, Amar Kumar Bauri, Neelkanth Singh Munda, Bhanu Pratap Shahi and Jitu Charan Ram.
